Poker Table Plans - How to Build a Poker Table

So I decided I want a poker table and have looked many places online and at retail stores. After hours of searching, I decided to build my own custom poker table for several reasons. The main reasons are that tables are just so expensive especially when you factor in shipping. Quality is usually poor on imported poker tables and by building my own I can be assured that the quality is exactly what I want it to be. Building one on my own would also give me great satisfaction. By building my own table I was also able to customize the colors and materials used on the table and even the size to fit my needs.

My First Poker Table - 84" X 44" Oval

The table I am going to build is 84" x 44" and is designed to hold between 8-10 players. I built a 5" wide padded rail. This is the first table I've ever built and do not really think of myself of a very handy person although I do enjoy do-it-yourself projects. For my first table, I decided to keep things simple and just construct a basic table and rail with basic folding legs because being able to store the table when not in use is a plus right now. If I build another table, I will probably experiment a little more with some of the extras that can be added to tables including built in cup holders, a wooden racetrack around the playing area, a raised rail table, a dealer cutout area, and/or pedestal table legs instead of folding legs. The step by step guide will guide you through this entire process from start to finish of building my first table. My finished table is shown below!
