Samurai Palace Chips are high quality clay poker chips made by the Blue Chip Company on the T-mold which is exclusive to Hold'Em Poker Chips. The mold is very subtle but is truly fantastic. It features a series of interlocking "T" shapes outlined by 2 concentric circles. The entire face of the chip including the inlay has a fine cross-hatched texture. The chips have excellent weight at around 9.6 grams each and feel and sound great. The sound is a little different than Paulson chips because they are slightly harder in composition but they definitely sound like clay poker chips. And the harder composition means that they do not transfer color nearly as bad as Paulson chips do.
The colors in the set are very muted and subdued. They are Asian themed with dark colors and very unique edge spots. The inlays on the front and the back of the chips are different. One is white and one is black. The denominations are a little small but clearly visible. Some of the inlays are not perfectly round and some have off centered printing but this is expected when dealing with clay poker chips. There is also a slight white ring around some of the inlays. This is more noticeable on the black inlays. Again, this is normal with clay poker chips and shouldn't be seen as a defect.
These chips are available in 8 denominations between 25 cents and $5000. Samurai Palace chips are a little pricier than other clay chips on the market but are well worth it. You are paying for great design, a nice custom mold, and one of the best poker chips on the home market. You will not be disappointed with these chips.
